Role description

The Humanities Teacher will deliver an interdisciplinary, research-driven curriculum covering a broad spectrum of Geography, History, Economics, and Global Perspectives, fostering critical thinking, inquiry skills, and global awareness. Utilizing specialist resources, state-of-the-art facilities, and industry partnerships, the role encourages students to develop a scientific approach to understanding human societies, environmental interactions, and historical developments. Through real-world applications, sustainability studies, and ethical, political, and economic analysis, students will explore complex global issues, preparing them for informed decision-making and active citizenship.

Skills

• Hold a BEd or Bachelors degree with PGCE / PGDE or equivalent
• Masters or equivalent qualification is desirable
• Have proven experience of teaching Humanities KS4/KS5
• Have a willingness to collaborate and share their outstanding practice
• Have a growth mindset, whereby they are reflective and solution focussed
• Be creative and enthusiastic in their approach to teaching
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills to work closely with colleagues, students and parents
• Have a proven track record of providing outstanding learning and teaching
• Have aspiration to work in a world-class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
• Be willing to make a positive contribution to our school community and culture through active engagement in our extra-curricular programme and community-based events
