HVAC Design Engineer

Job description / Role

Job Purpose:
To design and optimize cooling systems (precision air conditioning, chilled water, free cooling) for data centers, ensuring thermal efficiency and redundancy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design CRAC/CRAH units, chilled water systems, airflow management (hot/cold aisle containment).
• Perform CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analysis for airflow optimization.
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE TC 9.9, PUE/DCiE efficiency metrics.
• Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of cooling systems.
• Evaluate liquid cooling solutions for high-density racks.

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years in data center HVAC design.
• Proficiency in HAP, CFD tools (6SigmaDC, Autodesk CFD), Revit MEP.
• Certifications: CDCP, LEED AP, ASHRAE Certified HVAC Designer.
