General description of role and responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring and controlling installation of HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing activities. Responsible for inspecting the works, methods, and operations, sampling, and site activities to assure compliance with all construction documents.

Monitor and control construction activities associated with the HVAC, mechanical, and plumbing activities. Undertake all site supervision and inspections when required.

Review technical submittals and shop drawings associated with the MEP works.

Review construction schedules, including manpower and equipment requirements.

Be completely familiar with the QA/QC requirements of all construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Inspect construction works, methods, operations, sampling, and site activities to assure their compliance with all construction documents.

Monitor installations to ensure that only approved materials are being used in the permanent works.

Ensure the contractor(s) comply with the standards and specifications of the contract documents through observation, measurements, and testing as well as tracking quality assurance progress.

Report on materials delivery and follow and implement any site instructions.

Apply and implement all quality controls and quality procedures of the site.

Provide information to the project engineer and others of the project team required to meet the KPIs.

Prepare any site measurements and surveying checks needed by the leader.

Maintain registers of all submittals and testing, both on site and off site.

Maintain full site records, including daily site diaries in an approved format.

Prepare reports related to inspections and quality of the works.

Monitor health and safety of the construction works and report on violations.

Attend coordination meetings as assigned between civil, structural, MEP, and finishes activity.

Attend technical meetings.

Qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills

  • Degree in mechanical engineering
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience with 5 years relevant experience
  • A broad general engineering background, and previous UAE construction management experience on cargo and airport projects is required
  • Good working knowledge of local Abu Dhabi infrastructure construction industry practices, safety, and quality management systems
  • Good communication skills in English
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Good report writing and reporting skills is a must
  • Displays initiative, drive, and delivery focus
