I&C Supervisor (Emirati National)

Job description / Role

Westlakes Recruit is currently recruiting for an experienced I&C Supervisor (Emirati National) to support the Hassyan Power Plant on a permanent basis in Dubai, UAE.

Job Purpose:
To supervise the day-to-day Instrumentation and Control activities in the shift, including preventive and corrective maintenance, planned outage, and overhauling work activities for all instrumentation and control systems. This role ensures effective functionality, plant availability, and system reliability while adhering to maintenance plans, HSE guidelines, and quality standards.

Key Accountabilities:

Maintenance Management
• Assign resources for scheduled preventative maintenance, breakdowns, and major repair jobs to optimize functionality of instrumentation and control systems while ensuring quality standards and timely completion of tasks.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation and control systems to ensure smooth and trouble-free operations.
• Test and validate the condition of equipment upon completion of repairs to confirm compliance with quality standards.
• Conduct regular inspections to monitor work progress and ensure adherence to approved schedules, addressing any non-conformances as required.
• Assist in investigating and specifying modifications to existing systems, including preparing technical specifications, materials, process diagrams, and cost estimates.

Outage Management
• Coordinate the planning and execution of planned outage maintenance for critical instrumentation and control systems and equipment, ensuring adherence to EHS, scope, cost, and timeline objectives.

Documentation
• Ensure accurate and complete maintenance documentation, including the Maintenance Log, outlining faults, repair methods, and resource usage.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, security, and environmental procedures to maintain employee safety and regulatory compliance.

Inventory Management
• Monitor material and spare parts requirements for instrumentation and control maintenance activities, ensuring timely procurement and replenishment of necessary stock.

Policies, Processes, Systems & Procedures
• Adhere to all relevant organizational policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent and high-quality work.

Continuous Improvement
• Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs, and projects in line with organizational standards.

Related Assignments
• Perform other duties as required by the line manager.

People Management
• Supervise team activities to ensure objectives are met in accordance with policies, processes, and business plans.

Communication & Working Relationships:

Internal:
• Collaborate closely with the Maintenance Section Head, Instrumentation and Control Engineer, Instrumentation and Control Technicians, other Maintenance Teams, and the Operations Team.

External:
• Liaise with relevant contractors, SAP, and vendors as needed.

Qualifications, Experience, & Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:
• Diploma in Instrument Engineering.

Minimum Experience:
• 7 – 10 years of experience in Instrument and Control maintenance, including installation, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems in a plant environment.

Skills:
• Practical knowledge of plant equipment.
• Understanding of Instrument and Control maintenance principles, including waste disposal and emission monitoring.
• Awareness of HSE & quality standards.
• Knowledge of downtime analysis and problem-solving tools.
• Understanding of preventative/predictive maintenance theory.
• Strong mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
• Excellent planning, organizing, and integration skills.
• Effective teamwork and collaboration skills.
