Job description / Role
• Design, install, and maintain IT infrastructure onboard vessels and at shore offices.
• Manage and troubleshoot satellite communication systems (VSAT, Inmarsat, Iridium, etc.) for fleet connectivity.
• Ensure secure and efficient fleet management software, ERP, and IoT-based tracking systems.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect vessel IT networks from cyber threats.
• Support and configure marine navigation systems, ECDIS, AIS, and radar integration with IT networks.
• Oversee networking, VPNs, firewalls, and remote access solutions for vessels and shore offices.
• Ensure data security, backup, and disaster recovery plans for maritime operations.
• Collaborate with fleet managers and technical teams to optimize onboard IT performance.
• Stay updated on IMO cybersecurity regulations and maritime IT compliance standards.
• Provide technical support and training for vessel crews and shore-based staff.
Requirements:
The ICT Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining IT infrastructure, communication systems, and cybersecurity within the maritime and fleet management industry. This role ensures the seamless operation of vessel and shore-based IT systems, supporting real-time fleet monitoring, satellite communications, and maritime cybersecurity.
