Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

• Reviews, drafts and negotiates major contracts mainly relating to real estate and corporate matters, e.g., sale and purchase agreements, special licensing, non-disclosure agreements, terms and amendments, undertakings, waivers, notices, brokerage agreements, IP, banking agreements, settlement agreements, JV agreements, M&A and other general agreements relating to marketing, IT, insurance and tender in English.
• Prepares contracts for internal review and approval and ensures compliance with company policies as well as applicable laws or regulations;
• Advises on all legal corporate and commercial matters of the company in and outside the UAE;
• Respond and provide professional advice to all legal queries received from other departments in the company through legal help desk;
• Ability to translate complex commercial/legal scenarios into simple language and action plans.
• Supports other departments in the company in relation to the company’s new and existing projects and various commercial matters.
• Ability to identify, minimize and manage risks.

Requirements

• The successful candidate will be quali?ed as a lawyer in the UK/US with extensive experience in commercial and corporate matters in addition to UAE laws.
• At least 10 years PQE including not less than 3 years in the UAE at a top-tiered law ?rm or similar in-house role.
• Arabic and English speaker.
• High integrity, respect and positive attitude.
• Attention to details and ability to identify legal requirements and risks.
• Demonstrate excellent drafting, reviewing and negotiation skills in English;
• Be able to manage multiple priorities and tasks, work efficiently under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines and respond to urgent requirements.
• Be able to communicate efficiently and work with business representatives at all levels of seniority.
• Be able to work independently as well as under the supervision of the General Counsel.
• Be able to work with other colleagues in the legal department as a team.
