Responsibilities:
• Responsible for tax compliance processes in relation to audit and indirect taxes
• Coordinate and manage the use of outside advisors to support accurate and timely submission of indirect tax returns and related accessory obligations, as well as internally file indirect tax returns as appropriate
• Develop, implement and streamline tax compliance processes, including reaching out to business units throughout the organization where indirect taxes arise
• Review VAT Tax returns (analysis of data, and liaison with AP and AR teams)
• Assist with indirect tax related audit and controversy matters
• Work with tax technology and IT teams to identify automated solutions to the compliance process and support implementation
• Assist with evaluating the tax effect and implications of international business initiatives, contemplated transactions, and business proposals
• Work with the intercompany accounting team to ensure indirect tax requirements are implemented
• Drive and implement changes required to indirect tax compliance processes as a result of changes to indirect tax legislation
• Identify cash flow and tax benefits related to indirect taxes for various business units
• VAT technical and accounting review of draft returns and client specific exception reports;
• Selecting specific transactions for further review;
• Liaising with the appropriate client personnel;
• Ensuring high quality service delivery to our clients;
• Keeping up to date with legislation and practical changes which impact VAT compliance;

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics or Business Administration, VAT Diploma is a plus
• Progressive tax experience with some exposure to international transactional taxes in a Big 4 public accounting firm and/or a multinational corporation
• Experience and knowledge with UAE and International Indirect-tax is required.
• Experience managing a transactional tax compliance function
• Experience and knowledge in IFRS and tax regulations, laws and standards
• Advanced data analytics skills (including proficiency in Excel)
• Ability to understand and work with ERP systems,
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to interface with senior management
• Ability to work independently with limited general supervision, effectively prioritizing competing demands in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to lead international tax compliance through hiring and development
• Professional certification in accounting
• Good analytical and numeric skills including bookkeeping;
• Good communication skills, both oral and written;
• Good self-organisational skills
• Energy and enthusiasm;
• Ambition and a strong desire to succeed;
• A commitment to team working;
• An ability to work within a strict timetable and deadlines
• Evidence of coching and guiding others
