Information Researcher - Dubai

An opportunity has arisen within the head office of this multi-national professional services firm. Based in Dubai, the role of Information Researcher reports to the Manager of Information Services and provides research and information services to consulting and administrative staff using appropriate electronic, print, and other resources. The role frequently works as part of case teams to facilitate research planning, information management, training, and capture of research experience.

The incumbent will research for local and regional case teams, Industry Practice Areas and client development utilizing electronic, print and other resources as assigned under the guidance of a Senior Researcher, Team Leader or Manager. Additionally, there will be a requirement to build industry knowledge by attending practice meetings, industry conferences and regular reading of trade and internal publications. There will be an element of asset building in terms of participation or leadership including contributions to the Information Services Portal, wikis and other projects as assigned. There will also be an expectation to attend as an active member of an Industry Team, and being involved in ongoing product and service evaluations and resource development activities.

There will be leadership of business research and just-in-time training staff at all levels. From an administrative perspective, there will be tracking of personal research request including cost recovery information, involvement in Information Services marketing efforts and sourcing of opportunities to broaden and deepen the skillset by being involved in special projects. There will be the processing of orders, new acquisitions, catalogue and serials check in and end user system updates.

Requirements

We are looking for an individual with a Degree in Library Science from an accredited university or equivalent along with three years’ experience conducting business research in a fast paced consulting, financial services or other business or equivalent preferred. Experience with Factiva, Thomson databases and other standard business research tools is preferred and the applicant must have training and presentation skills. Fluent written and verbal communication skills in native language and English required. Arabic would be considered a distinct advantage.
