Employment: Full Time

Job purpose:
This is a front-line leadership and operational role within the first registered adult alcohol and drug rehabilitation center service.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the treatment programme and the running of the service, including staff rotas.

You will ensure that the quality of the services provided meets required standards, contribute to the overall development of the service, and to ensure compliance with the aims and objectives of the organisation. You will be responsible for the care and safety of staff and clients and to promote an environment conducive to a high standard of care in which clients can participate.

As a trained addiction therapist, preferably to Master’s level, you will be responsible for providing leadership in the delivery of the therapy programme including providing management guidance and line management supervision to therapy and ancillary staff. The position also requires acting as site safeguarding lead.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Staff Management:
• Have overall management responsibility for the therapy team, including performance
• Assist in the recruitment, training and induction of therapy staff and volunteers
• Maintain staff rota to ensure quality staffing seven days a week.
• Support and line manage therapy staff in day-to-day programme operations
• Conduct team meetings
• Ensure the therapy team keep up with and complete all relevant documentation including client notes, treatment planning, discharge summaries, outcome forms etc. in a timely manner
• Ensure that all documentation is accurate, clearly written and up to date
• Ensure all communication with primary referrers happens in a timely manner
• Provide monthly individual line management supervision for the therapy staff
• Conduct annual appraisals for all therapy staff
• Ensure debriefing meetings after groups and handover meetings take place
• Oversee the placement of interns and volunteers to ensure they are provided with a positive experience, including overseeing the provision of their supervision

Client Management:
• Oversee the tracking of client participation in the programme to ensure that appropriate assignments are being completed and presented and that the programme is being delivered in accordance with the programme schedule
• Ensure communication with referrers takes place including the sending of discharge documentation
• Monitor daily client and staff interactions and address concerns in a timely manner
• Respond to crisis situations
• Ensure all enquiries are responded to and recorded in a timely manner

Clinical:
• Deliver specialist interventions e.g. family programme and develop the therapy staff team to fulfill the needs of the service i.e. up-skilling colleagues to be able to deliver the family programme and other interventions.
• Facilitate groups & one to ones on a need led basis
• Oversee all therapy meetings including treatment planning and multidisciplinary client reviews
• Oversee the accuracy of client data on client management system, summary notice boards and census documents and adjust accordingly
• Carry out audits & implement any corresponding action plans
• Liaise with the Treatment Services Director in all aspects of program delivery as well as individual client and therapist issues

General Management:
• Attend management and governance meetings as required
• Attend and prepare reports as instructed
• Support in the development and implementation of ad hoc projects as needed
• Respond to crisis situations on a need led basis, supporting colleagues in the process
• Support the Services Manager in the creation and delivery of efficient systems to ensure smooth flow of work

Regulatory:
• Work with the Service Manager to ensure that the required policies and procedures are implemented and maintained in compliance with the regulatory bodies.
• Act as site safeguarding lead
• Work within the UAE ethical framework
• Ensure that all therapists are compliant with all legal and regulatory requirements
• Ensure that all interactions with clients, family members and stakeholders are documented to the required standard and in a timely manner
• Have site responsibility for health and safety and first aid

Marketing:
• Attend and speak at events on a need led basis
• Meet with referrers and potential referrers on a need led basis including the attendance at local community meetings as required

Requirements

Qualifications
• Diploma/Degree in Psychotherapy
• BACP/UKCP or similar registration
• Continued Professional Development Diary or evidence of reflective practice/regular clinical supervision
• Evidence of in-service training and courses attended
• Qualification in management
• Member of special interest groups
• Qualification in group work
• Recognised post-graduate therapy-based qualification e.g. MSc. or equivalent experience

Experience & Knowledge
• At least 2 years’ experience of management of a
psychotherapy team or service
• Knowledge and experience of overseeing regulatory compliance, such as those of the Care Quality Commission
• Experience of working in addictions service
• Experience of working with clients with a wide range of presentations
• Experience of risk assessment
• Experience of developing and providing group work
• Experience of completing monitoring reports
• Experience of accountability for service provision
• Experience of staff performance management
• Experience in the application of own theoretical model of practice, as well as a demonstrable understanding of, and respect for, other models and approaches
• Understanding and knowledge of the 12-step approach and the ability to promote its effectiveness
• Experience of budget monitoring and management for identified areas of responsibility
• Knowledge and understanding of the ethical frameworks as defined by BACP/UKCP or any other relevant professional accrediting body.
• Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding adults, children and young people with regard to protection issues and legal responsibilities.
• Experience of working in the private sector
• Specific training in safeguarding
