These include a series of four consecutive one-semester courses called Professional Practise and Communication 1 - 4, which focus on communication skills, ethics, and professionalism, with additional input provided by specialised faculty in the areas of lifestyle and health promotion; and two further courses in the first semester: Language and Literacy for Medicine, which is a focused reading and writing skills course; and General and Human Biology, where input is limited to learning and practising use of scientific terminology, and oral presentation skills.
