Job Description
The Department of Translation Studies in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, at the United Arab Emirates University invites applications for the position of instructor of French Language to start in August 2019. The qualified candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching French language and culture to undergraduate university students who have no previous knowledge of French. The candidate will teach all four language skills as well as French culture. This candidate will also be expected to participate in preparing teaching schedules, developing the French curriculum, participating in the Department's efforts to evaluate the achievement of the learning outcomes of the French program and courses as well as other assigned duties that that fall within their expertise and role to contribute to the service mission of the Department and University. In addition, the candidate will be expected to develop and participate in extracurricular activities to promote learning the French language and culture among students, and actively engage in promoting the growth of the UAE University.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification
Masters or PhD Degree in Linguistics (French); Teaching French as a Foreign Language, or a related field from a top Western university. Demonstrated experience in pedagogical methods and practices of teaching French.<b>

Preferred Qualification
Masters or PhD Degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language.<b>

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
A minimum of 3-year experience in using up-to-date methodologies of teaching French to foreigners as well as using computers and technologies in teaching.
