Interior Design Director

Job description / Role

This well established design driven Design and Build operation has an exciting range of Designed and Delivered projects across the region. Landmark projects are included across their portfolio of Hospitality, Residential, F&B, and Commercial projects.

- Currently they are inviting candidates for the role of Interior Design Director to apply.
- Reporting to the CEO, this individual will be leading the creative interiors efforts on client projects, developing overall design concepts and design presentation strategies
- Leading interior design efforts that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentation and advising on the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting
- Responsible for Supervising the generation of finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for construction and providing the design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts
- Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators and mentor and provide creative direction to interior design teams
- Acting as the primary interior design interface with clients and consultants, this person will also collaborate with team members and colleagues to promote an inter-disciplinary design approach and philosophy, and participate in business development and marketing efforts.

Requirements

- 15+ years’ professional experience, including recent projects in the Middle East
- Advanced degree in Interior Design / architecture or a related field preferred
- Experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies
- Outstanding graphic presentation skills
- Proven track record of success in maintaining and growing client relationships
- Strong, persuasive communicator with excellent verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex design concepts to clients
- International design experience a plus
- A desire to mentor team members, offer guidance and leadership
- Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
- Experience with Sketch Up, AutoCAD, Adobe and other relevant software

One's portfolio will show a range of completed projects, diverse from Hotels, High end residential and commercial projects, of the highest design caliber.

Excellent English communication skills and presentation is required.
