Employment: Full Time

Interior Designer
This position requires a highly-motivated individual with a minimum 8-12 years’ experience. The candidate will be required to work closely with both Procurement Team and Design Teams in developing interior design concepts. Will be required to work with key stakeholders to develop interior design schemes for key areas of projects and advising the Procurement Team on selection of appropriate Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment. Will be required to oversee the process from concept through to installation and this will involve reviewing and approving contractor’s shop drawings to ensure that the installation will reflect the original design intent. Site visits will also be required to oversee the quality of finishes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, resourcefulness, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work within a team. The candidate should have experience in sourcing high-end FF&E and finishes on large and small projects.

Job Scope

• Determine the client’s goals and requirements of the project
• Co ordinate space planning, layout and utilization of furnishings and equipment, and colour pattern coordination.
• Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities

• Able to integrate design requirements with architecture
• Able to use a variety of media in the development and documentation of a design project

• Understanding of the Design Managers role in the co-ordination and integration of project information and management

Requirements

Key Accountabilities:

• Initiate effort and energy beyond the typical work day, where the tasks require additional commitment.
• Attend staff meetings and serve on committees as required.
• Review and prepare if required with the team where required, drawings, models, images, material & mood boards and other documents relating to the design.
• Liaise, where appropriate, with members of the external design team and other associated organisations or companies
• Contribute, or otherwise assist, as required

Qualifications / knowledge:
• Bachelor of Architecture or Bachelor of Science in ID.

Skills:
• Candidates should be proficient with, PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc. CD level interior design production and experience is a plus, as is the ability to communicate design ideas with hand drawings.
