Interior Designer/FFE Specialist

Job description / Role

Leading international Design firm seek Interior Designer- FFE Specialist to report to their Lead Interior Designer.

• Select FF&E items in accordance with the design brief and budget.
• Document and graphically represent the approved FF&E selections in order to permit procurement.
• Have an understanding of the market to ensure selections are available and aligned with the programme both in design and clients procurement requirements.
• Produce concept, schematic and detailed information in line with project briefs and within agreed timeframes, to a standard required by practice including the required level of information, presentation and documentation control.

Responsibilities
• Completion of all packages of work to the firms standards on time.
• Must have an understanding on the availability of FF&E selections in the markets. Must have an understanding of clients budget for FF&E items and be able to select within that range. Preparation of concept and schematic designs, presentations, and, reports with assist of Lead/Senior Interior Designer.
• Preparation of the all drawings required for concept/schematic stages. Preparation of mood boards to satisfy the requirements of the Lead/Senior Interior Design. Preparation of material selections, schedules, Appendices, and physical material boards. Preparation of colored layouts to satisfy the requirements of the Lead/Senior Interior Design. Preparation of FF&E plans, schedules, and Appendices, refer to project deliverables. Coordinate with 3D visualize ensuring clear understanding of the design and providing with all concept design products, elements, and materials required for the 3D modelling and renderings.
• Design Interior elements (bathrooms, kitchens etc) to satisfy the requirements of the Lead Interior Designer/ Senior Architect. Assist in the choosing and specifying of materials. Assist in the development of specifications/ control books. Take full responsibility for the printing of all documentation correctly to avoid unnecessary cost. Take full responsibility for developing, collating and labeling of an images and graphics library to include people, plants, furniture, lights, colored mood shots etc. For incorporation into mood boards.
• Overseeing and producing technical drawings and documentation for construction.
• Manage the agreed FF&E presentation format and ensure it is consistent and upholds the agreed presentation standards.
• Research and due diligence on suppliers, at all stages over the projects.

Requirements

• Professional bachelor’s degree in Architecture / Interior Design
• Minimum 5 years overall experience with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within the region.
• A strong understanding of the process with respect to the selection and procurement of FF&E items.
• Creativity
• Ability to think analytically
• Sound decision making and knowledge of zoning regulations and building codes
• Advanced level of proficiency within Auto Cad and / or Revit
• Fluent in English
• Strong presentation and customer relation skills
• Both design and site experience.
• Must have an understanding of the FF&E market and engage appropriately with suppliers to ensure selected items are available and meet the client’s procurement and budget briefs.
• Must have in depth detailed knowledge of local codes and regulations
• Must have knowledge of building permit procedures.
