The International and Government Affairs department helps Emirates to navigate the complex global environment in which we operate and is responsible for managing relationships with governments, international organizations, and other stakeholders around the world.
About the role
We're looking for an International and Government Affairs Manager to join us at Emirates in Dubai. Reporting into the Manager International and Government Affairs, you will develop, implement, and manage international and government affairs activities and positions on a global level, as they relate to the operations of Emirates. The International and Government Affairs Manager will initiate and support departmental stakeholder engagement, and the development and formulation of messaging. You will prepare comprehensive analysis, case studies, presentations, articles, policy documents, consultation responses and correspondence to promote Emirates' international and government affairs interests.
What you will do
- Prepare high-quality and timely documents for both internal and external purposes including data analysis, meeting files, business cases, reports, talking points, briefs, submissions, letters, publications, presentations, campaigns and articles on international and government affairs and environmental matters to support departmental objectives.
- Monitor, source and analyse intelligence and news regarding political, industry and regulatory developments that impact on Emirates' commercial and market access.
- Develop Emirates' policy positions and prepare instructive fact and data-based arguments, commentary, and content for advocacy collateral and documents.
- Organise and participate in stakeholder meetings/visits in Dubai and abroad and produce appropriate materials for them.
- Manage departmental projects, initiatives and administrative requirements including hospitality management, publication of a public affairs journal and economic impact studies.
- Provide support to Emirates environmental sustainability programme.
- Identify, build and maintain productive internal and external relationships to achieve business outcomes, including providing instructions to retained public affairs consultancies and developmental support to relevant colleagues in the department.
- Contribute to protecting and enhancing Emirates' reputation and shareholder value and help mitigate reputational risks and create a positive climate of opinion for Emirates.
Requirements:
- Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in commercial/sales, research/analysis, business analytics and modelling, law, international relations or a related area.
- 8+ years airline experience in the field of aeropolitical / international / government / public affairs with a strong background in commercial analysis and research.
You will have an edge if you have:
- Strong communication, analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrable capability in the field of statistics, modelling, and data analysis - ability to analyse large volumes of data.
- Thorough expertise in quantitative and qualitative research.
- Excellent writing skills and proven ability to produce high-quality correspondence, reports, presentations and advocacy documents.
- Good project and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrable influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders
