Job description / Role
Support with the management of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring efficient procurement, storage and distribution to support the medical service through operational efficiency. Oversee inventory control, adhere to regulatory standards, and work to reduce waste while ensuring timely availability of supplies and equipment.
Job Outline:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment to support uninterrupted patient care, through implementing inventory control procedures, including regular audits, to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
- Monitor the movement of stock between stores locations in order to ensure that minimum quantity is always stocked and available to provide an uninterrupted supply to the business.
- Handle stock rotation according to expiration dates and usage patterns to prevent expired or obsolete inventory.
- Provide solutions to improve procedures, services and reduce cost, develop accurate consistent enhancements to the inventory reporting.
- Inspect and verify items are free from damage and meet the specifications of the company standard.
- Coordinate with medical departments and suppliers to manage the timely handling of used or unserviceable items, directing them for repair or disposal as necessary. Ensure that all equipment is managed timely through Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
- Support in tracking and managing clinic assets, including medical equipment and furniture, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality, through conducting regular audits and managing inspections
- Stay updated on technological advancements in inventory management and equipment maintenance and suggest improvements to management as needed.
- Provide training and support to staff members on inventory procedures, maintenance protocols, and best practices.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience
- Medical/Safety.Other Medical: 5+ Years
- 12 Years schooling or equivalent
- Experience in medical materials, stores and supply chain management.
- Experience in the control of stock and inventory, with a minimum experience at a supervisory level.
Knowledge/skills:
- Work experience in a similar role within a health care setting.
- Knowledge of computer applications and inventory control.
- Knowledge of store keeping procedures and requirements.
- Fluent in English, written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
