Up to 35,000AED + Family Benefits

PURPOSE: To work as part of the International Finance team, responsible for financial reporting. To support accurate asset valuation of ~13,000 assets held within Open Architecture products, ensuring adherence to Group Asset Valuation Business Standards, and reporting requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/ OUTPUTS
- To perform independent price verification and valuation analysis on a wide range of alternative investments and structured products, held within the Open Architecture proposition and external management firms, using solid knowledge of alternative investment assets
- Review and interpret asset documentation and reports for hard-to-value assets to determine appropriate pricing for fair value, meeting the Group Asset Valuation Business Standards
- Communicate with the relevant parties to acquire necessary asset information and valuation data, including participating in and performing due diligence and pricing reviews with various external asset managers and third-party valuation service providers
- Assists with and/or prepares the reporting of price changes to ensure fair value accounting for hard-to-value assets, and to document and support rationale behind changes to asset prices, particularly where assets are stale, in suspension or liquidation
- Design, implement and perform process, as required, to support independent validation of externally provided valuations for alternative investments and structured products
- Validate pricing models and methodologies used by third party valuation vendors and structured product issuers
- Document pricing procedures and ensure auditability for model priced positions; prepare and maintain on-going documentation with regard to valuation policies, processes and internal controls
- Assists with preparation and documentation for an Investment / Valuation / Finance Committee focusing on key pricing and valuation initiatives and decisions

Requirements

- Degree in accounting, finance, economics, mathematics or other statistical field is preferred
- Holds CISI Certificate in Investment Management or CFA Investment Management Certificate, or other level 4+ Investment related qualification
- Detailed knowledge of markets, financial instrument valuation and risks measurement in a complex product area
- Experience with Bloomberg, Interactive Data, or other financial and investment market data and use of their associated application interface functions preferred
- Ability to collect and analyse large amounts of market information, extract its essence and incorporate the findings into valuation and pricing processes, providing independent valuations
- Ability to communicate complex topics and issues to management in an effective manner
- High level of competence with Microsoft packages, especially Excel
