Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

To utilize a variety of technologies to inspect products and materials for structural flaws. This can include a wide range of techniques, including radiography, ultrasound, current testing, and permeability testing. NDT technicians perform these tests on many different materials, most notably welded metal and concrete.

• Conducting material tests using a variety of nondestructive methodologies and technologies.
• Interpret and analyze test results to assess materials
• Prepare test reports.
• Ensure the accuracy of test results and prevent damage to materials by properly calibrating and maintaining their equipment.
• Developing processes and procedures to support quality assurance activities and rigorous testing.
• Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications or standards and evaluate results.
• Interpret radiographs, cathode ray tube (CRT) or digital readouts, conductivity meters and visual indicators.
• Organize and report test results.
• Perform specialized inspections.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements:

Educational and Technical Qualifications:

• High school diploma or an associate’s degree.
• IRATA Certification

Years of Experience:

• Minimum three years of GCC experience in Oil & Gas Industry.

Nature of Experience:

Staining surfaces with fluorescent liquid, which shows up flaws under ultraviolet lighting.
• Listening to the growth of cracks or flaws by monitoring the acoustic vibrations of a structure, for example a bridge support.
• Applying magnetic particles to magnetised materials, so they line up along cracks and defects.
• Fring high frequency sound pulses into materials and analysing the differences in the reflected signals.
