Irrigation Technician

Job description / Role

Role Title: Irrigation Technician
Role Type: Outsourced, full time, on-site
Work Location: Academic City, Al Ain Road, Al Ruwayyah 2, Dubai, UAE
Contract Duration: 12 Months extendable
Timings: Sunday to Friday 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM with one hour lunch time

Role Purpose
To maintain irrigation networks, tanks and pumping stations.

Responsibilities
• Read and understand drawings or plan the layout of irrigation network.
• Cut, assemble, and install pipes and drip tubes with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring)
• Repair issues of drip lines in experimental sites (e.g. leaks)
• Installation of water pumps
• Cleaning of existing water storage tanks (ZincAlum, GRP and Plastic)
• Flushing and cleaning of irrigation lines.
• Collection of flowmeter reading

Qualifications and Experience Essential
• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a plumber.
• Solid understanding of automatic irrigation systems.
• Ability to handle plumbing tools and equipment (pipe wrenches, pipe cutters, plungers etc.)
• Good physical condition and strength with the ability to work in hard weather conditions
