Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Job purpose & Scope: To lead and manage the Islands Instrument Team, Plans, coordinates and supervises maintenance activities to ensure support is provided for the continuous maintenance activities and that equipment are maintained at high degree of reliability / integrity.

Also, covering all aspects of maintenance activities in his discipline for a variety of works, Spare parts review, develop/review Job plans, carrying risk assessment, develop long and short term Plans of all major overhaul work on all instrument/ control and related systems.

Principal Accountabilities:
• Supervises & co-ordinate the activities of the Instrument Maintenance Team including Senior Technicians according to company maintenance procedures, and schedules and ensure that work objectives and programs are implemented.
• Ensures all maintenance documentation are completed correctly, particularly the maintenance log, type of fault, work carried out and time, Manpower and materials used. Submits daily, weekly and monthly work progress reports and specific technical reports as required. Checks and authorize work order, timesheets, mission order and leave.
• Reviews inventories of spare parts and materials at Islands to ensure availability for required work programs, issue requisitions for stock materials and prepare requisitions for purchase items for Island Manager approval.
• Supervises defect maintenance and repair work on instrumentation, control Fire and Gas system and telecommunication systems involving field instruments, control room, telecommunications equipment for ZADCO use, fire and gas system, and packages instrument and control.
• Carries out trouble shooting of routine/non-routine equipment failure, cause analysis and reliability audit as required.
• Review the update technical drawings for the installations and ensure conformity of the as-built status with the Design and Technical requirements.
• Liaises with Business Unit Maintenance Support and Operations Support Units on standards and planning of maintenance of existing and proposed equipment and facilities. Identify problem areas, equipment or machinery, recommending changes in equipment or spare parts or in the scope and frequency of the maintenance.
• Reviews critical spares and 2-years Spares to ensure adequate supplies are made available for the tasks and participates in reviews of changes or modifications to stock levels and materials used.
• Prepares budgets and detailed work programs and preventive maintenance schedules for instrumentation and control equipment, in conjunction with other section involved.
• Update the NSI-IM Island MTN Manager in the provision of all maintenance activities & related issues/aspects in order to maximize productivity and efficiency of section performance. Implements and follow-up Development Program of UAE Nationals Developees and regularly assesses them.

Organizational Relationships (Work Contacts):
• Reporting to Islands Maintenance Manager with individual Sr. Technicians as direct subordinates.
• Liaise with site departments and base support units.

Independence of Operations and Decision-making Authority:
• Works in accordance with established procedures and specialized technical standards.
• Exercises discretion in planning work, deciding priorities and evaluating performance values. Work is reviewed by IOS Maintenance Manager.

Requirements

• B. Sc. in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
• 10-12 years’ experience in oil or related industry of which 5 years should be in Maintenance of Electronic, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Control Systems including Actuators and Actuated Valves; Pressure Safety Valves; Field Instrument, etc. systems and their components.
• Excellent knowledge of International Codes and Standards in his own field and general knowledge of other disciplines.
• Very good knowledge of English.
• Computer literate.
