The role

A highly skilled and experienced IT consultant with strong background in IT systems and solutions, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a passion for helping clients improve their technology operations. As an IT consultant, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs, develop customized solutions, and ensure the successful implementation of IT projects.

Project description

KBR are supporting the Iraq Ministry of Planning with the development of economic and social policies within the varied governmental sectors to achieve the national development objectives. KBR will provide consultancy services covering economic master plan, project prioritization, technical and financial review, project management, ongoing project monitoring and negotiation support. Digitisation forms a key part of all of these services.

Main responsibilities

• Assess client IT needs and provide strategic recommendations.
• Design and implement IT solutions to meet client requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Conduct system audits and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Provide training and support to client staff.
• Manage IT initiatives and collaborate with technical support for hardware, software, and network configurations.
• Provide support with technical issues to improve processes.
• Provide IT support across multiple task orders.
• Support the latest technology and its implementation.

Experience, skills and knowledge

• BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Minimum overall relevant experience 10 years.
• Minimum relevant experience 5 years in the role projects.
• Minimum regional experience 5 years.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) are preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IT systems, networks (LAN & WAN), hardware, software, and licensing.
• Experience with on premise and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience in deploying IT and networking systems across the country.
• Proficiency in project management and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to troubleshoot software, hardware, and network issues.
• Fluency in English language both written and spoken, Arabic speaking advantageous.
