IT Governance Specialist

Job description / Role

The IT Governance Specialist will play a key role in establishing and maintaining a governance framework for IT services across the entity. The role requires collaboration with senior leadership and various departments to enforce governance practices, support continuous IT improvements and ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Description

• Develop and implement an IT governance framework aligned with industry standards (COBIT, ITIL) and organizational goals
• Ensure IT services comply with governance policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Identify and assess IT risks, develop mitigation strategies and manage compliance with relevant frameworks
• Conduct regular IT audits and oversee legal and regulatory compliance
• Collaborate with IT, operations, and security teams to align on governance and risk management
• Lead continuous improvement efforts in IT governance to enhance operational efficiency and risk reduction

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, IT Governance, or a related field; ITIL certification or equivalent governance certification required
• Minimum 10 years of experience in IT governance, with a focus on risk management, compliance and IT policy enforcement within the UAE
• Strong knowledge of IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL), risk management methodologies and compliance standards
• Fluent in English & Arabic, with excellent communication skills and experience in stakeholder management
• Proven ability to lead and manage IT governance initiatives in complex environments
