Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

Opportunity exists with international law firm for an IT Operations Analyst to provide operational support, maintenance and troubleshooting the Middle East IT operations environment.

Role entails:
- Reviewing and monitoring the Middle East infrastructure and identify improvements and make recommendations as necessary.
- Working in conjunction with the local IT service desk and the global service delivery team to ensure infrastructure updates and security best practice is adhered to.
- Undertake support work and deal with customer support issues in a prompt and efficient manner

Key responsibilities
- Operating Hours/Level: The team must ensure that all Middle East IT services are available 24x7, except during planned periods of system unavailability.
- Support: The team will provide second and third line support for the helpdesk for the investigation and resolution of issues.
- Maintenance: The team is responsible for ensuring that the whole Middle East environment is fully supported and that suitable support and maintenance contracts are in place. This includes maintaining good work relationships with 3rd party providers.
- DRP: The team is responsible for the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery procedures (DRP) as an integrated part of the firm's overall BCM plans

Salary range AED 24-27K per month (plus overtime)

Requirements

Technical skills:
- Good understanding of Network Infrastructure
- Advanced LAN management in CISCO environment.
- CISCO Voice over IP
- Good knowledge of all Windows client OS
- Knowledge of Citrix XenApp 6.5, and an understanding of a Terminal Server Environment
- An understanding of an Active Directory domain including Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, WINS
- Good understanding of other office systems, such as Printing, Faxing, Scanning.
- Specialist knowledge of local applications
- CCNA (Cisco) or CCEA (Citrix)
- Powershell, VBS scripting ability

Generic Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required as this role involves a great deal of communication to users at all levels. Good documentation skills are also highly desired for this role.
- The ability to effectively multi-task and prioritise tasks in a dynamic global environment by balancing the needs of project work with support work. Additionally the ability to work well under pressure as part of a team or on their own initiative is required.
- A flexible approach, with the ability to plan and co-ordinate information from various sources is vital to this position.
- Proven project management skills would be an added advantage as this position may require project work.
- Able to work with a team, within the local office, and also part of an international team.
- Understanding of ITIL principals such as Change and Incident management.
- Good IT support skills.

Client is also looking for:
- Network specialist, someone who has good experience with configuring Cisco switches.
- Experience with VMware, working with vSphere.
- Good experience of server builds.
- Law firm or professional services experience
- Experience in the region (and ideally based here already)
- Flexible to travel in the region and work additional hours
