IT Security Engineer - S&A

Job description / Role

The ITSE is responsible for managing and administrating a wide variety of security tools and appliances. While not expected to be an expert in everything, they should be an SME in as many as possible. The ITSE also participates in architecture and design reviews and supports security assessment teams when needed.

Responsibilities:
• The IT Security Engineer provides senior level operations support and engineering services for enterprise security solutions.
• Supporting, enhancing and maintaining existing security applications/devices to ensure their availability, reliability and performance.
• Develop, implement and execute standard procedures for the administration, content management, change management, patch management and life cycle management of the Security tools are in place.
• Maintains a continuous process improvement work environment, for security monitoring, security configuration standards and implementing improved process in accordance with existing policy.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands on experience in Information Security domain.
• 3+ years of experience in SOC and 2+ years of experience in NOC environments.
• Hands on experience with SIEM technologies and other log management solutions (Arcsight, Splunk, ELK, Solarwinds, etc.)
• Experienced with multiple security platform administration or engineering within large-scale or global enterprises.
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experienced in Vulnerability and patch management.
• Device administration and implementation experience in IPS solutions.
• Good command on Python, regex, shell scripting.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise detection technologies and processes (Advanced Threat Detections tools, DDoS protection tools, Endpoint Protection, Data Integrity tools)
• Experience with security scanning tools.
• Strong understanding of security solutions to include File Integrity Monitoring and Data Loss Prevention.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts.
• Solid experience implementing and maintaining AV solutions.

Desirable Vendor Certifications related to IT Security Engineering:
• Arcsight, Splunk, McAfee, Symantec, Tripwire, Cisco,
• SANS GIAC (GSEC, GCIH, GCIA, GCFA)
