IT Specialist

Job description / Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled IT Specialist to join our dynamic team in Sharjah, UAE. As an IT Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our internal teams with technology solutions, ensuring smooth operations, and enhancing overall productivity.

Responsibilities:
1. Hands on with computer hardware, software, printers, scanners, networks switches, laptops, Mac PC.
2. Experience in Installing and Configuring Network Devices: Set up and configure routers, switches, firewalls, and other network hardware to ensure the network functions efficiently.
3. Hands on with configuring IP Addresses and Subnets: Assign IP addresses and manage the subnetting to ensure proper communication across the network.
4. Hands-on with Firewall VPN & configuration for remote users.
5. Experience in Troubleshooting Network Issues: Identify and resolve network-related problems (e.g., speeds, outages) quickly to minimize downtime.
6. Hands-on with Antivirus administration, Policies, profiles, Installation & managing (Kaspersky), should be able to Implement Security Measures: Install and configure intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), antivirus programs, and other security tools.
7. Experience with IP Phone installation & management (Avaya). global
8. Core understanding of Windows Active Directory, FSMO Roles, Groups, Permissions, User control, backups etc.
9. Firewall Configuration and Maintenance: must be able to set up and manage firewalls to block unauthorized access and ensure network security. Hands on with Perimeter Firewall, security endpoints management & troubleshooting for Internet traffic, Policy updates, security profiles assessment & Network management.
10. In depth understanding of Switching protocols, troubleshooting LAN, VLAN, Access, Trunk etc.(HP/Aruba)

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an IT Specialist or similar role with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Strong knowledge of networking, server management, and IT infrastructure.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified, or equivalent are a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
