Job description / Role
Position Summary:
A skilled and detailed-oriented System Administrator to manage the setup, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft 365 Active Directory accounts, user laptops, and terminal policies. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless operations by managing user access, endpoint devices, and terminal policies for a secure and efficient IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Microsoft 365
• Create, configure, and manage Active Directory (AD) accounts within Microsoft 365, ensuring correct permissions and group memberships.
• Manage and maintain user roles, licenses, and access rights to applications and resources within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and troubleshoot AD account-related problems.
• Implement and enforce security measures such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) and password policies and conditional access.
2. Laptop Installation and Configuration
• Install, configure, and maintain laptops for end-users, including operating system installation, software setup, and driver updates.
• Ensure all laptops are compliant with organizational standards and policies before deployment.
• Provide technical support for hardware and software issues encountered by end-users.
• Regularly update and patch laptops to protect against security vulnerabilities.
3. Policy and Terminal Usage Management
• Develop, implement, and enforce terminal usage policies to ensure compliance with company security standards.
• Configure group policies (GPOs) to manage terminal settings, including desktop environments, internet access, and device restrictions.
• Set up and maintain endpoint management solutions such as Microsoft Intune or equivalent for device management and monitoring.
• Monitor and log terminal activities to ensure adherence to IT policies and to identify potential misuse.
• Configure DLP (Data Loss Prevention) policies to prevent sensitive data leaks.
• Implement and manage security features like Antimalware, Antispam and Antiviruses.
4. Network Administration
• Manage and Maintain Network infrastructure including routers, switches and firewalls.
• Troubleshoot Network connectivity issues.
• Implement and maintain network security policies.
5. General IT Responsibilities:
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of hardware, software, and licenses for laptops and terminals.
• Conduct regular system and security audits to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical issues.
• Provide training and guidance to end-users on best practices for device and account usage.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing for end-user devices.
• Establish a helpdesk to provide technical support during and after the transition.
• Verify data accuracy post-migration through testing and validation.
• Ensures all systems, backups, and configurations comply with company policies and industry standards.
• Maintain up to date and accurate documentation of system configurations and procedures.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role, particularly in Microsoft 365 environments.
• Certifications like Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate or equivalent are a plus.
• 3+ years of experience as an IT System Administrator with Microsoft 365 Administration.
Technical Skills
• Microsoft 365 and Active Directory management.
• Windows OS deployment and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in OS installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Endpoint security and compliance management.
• Policy configuration using GPOs and related tools.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Windows operating systems and laptops.
• Familiarity with Group Policy Objects (GPOs) for terminal and policy management.
• Proficiency in email backup and configuration techniques.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Microsoft Intune, and endpoint management tools.
• Strong Understanding of Networking concepts TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with multiple operating systems.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (Vmware, HyperV, Parrallels)
• Configuring Teleconferencing, Printers and Projectors.
