Job description / Role

Employment: Full Time

This role will support & assist the Finance Manager in management of accounting and book-keeping activities through appropriately processing accounting transactions in compliance with the company’s policies, procedures and practices.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Prepare & post Journal entries (manual and automated), keeping the General Ledger up to date and assist with monthly closings as per the calendar/checklists.
- Receive & verify invoices and ensure proper cost center and account code wise booking in the system.
- Preparation of cheques - Match invoices to cheques, obtain all signatures and distribute cheque accordingly. Ensure proper payment is made to all vendors in a timely manner.
- Monthly reconciliation of the vendor statements for all local payables including Marketing Expense Recovery.
- Follow-up with vendors for relevant matters & inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Employee related expense booking and posting of payment vouchers including expense claims, housing advances, schooling allowances etc.
- Ensure timely rent payments together with the proper cost center wise expense allocation and booking as per the Contract/Document.
- Compile and sort the freight, postal, courier charges and other invoices. Ensure proper cost center wise expense allocation and booking.
- Coordination with different department teams for timely processing of supplier payments.
- Prepare and record debit and credit notes.
- Assist in the management of petty cash float and disbursements. Post petty cash transactions in appropriate accounts.
- Prepare monthly regular reports and other adhoc reports as and when required.
- Maintain vouchers and all other document files thoroughly and accurately.
- Assist with other projects, reports, budgets as and when required.
- Respond to financial questions/concerns to meet business needs.
- Preparation of necessary schedules & information for internal & external audit purposes.

Other Accountabilities:
- Undertake periodical stock audits (on test basis). Perform reconciliation and adjustments of stock ledgers in line with SOPs while providing appropriate justification and supporting documents.
- Preparation of Inventory on approval report and monthly location wise stock report.
- Follow up for location wise stock discrepancy report with proper reasoning for and ensure proper stock adjustment booking.
- Ensure timely completion and submission of location wise AUP Audit Report.
- Perform cash counts (including surprise cash counts) as and when required.
- Undertake other accountant’s work when they go on leave, as and when required.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 1 to 2 years of relevant Accounting experience
- Basic knowledge & understanding of :
- Accounting Principles, i-e GAAP/IFRS.
- Applicable accounts payable/general ledger systems, procedures, financial chart of accounts and other relevant corporate procedures.
- SOP’s & Internal Controls

Functional & Technical Skills
- Good MS office skills with expertise in MS Excel
- 1 to 2 years of large ERP system experience (Oracle preferable)
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
