Job description / Role
On behalf of one of our clients, a multinational management consulting firm in the UAE, we are looking for a qualified Junior Accountant. You will be an integral member of the Middle East finance team. Based in Dubai, you will provide financial support and deliver expertise on travel and other business expenses while also fulfilling other accounting and analytical functions.
The responsibilities will include auditing expense reports, which consists of checking and verifying staff expense reports; verifying expense reports submissions are in accordance with the expense guidelines, proactively suggesting improvements on the expense policy if needed, act as a point of contact for staff on expense related queries. Processing expense reimbursement will be a daily task, along with ensuring that any applicable deductions are correctly applied against the expense reimbursement.
Knowledge of Oracle is essential as reconciling the Oracle payment batch to the bank upload will be a responsibility. Being proactive in suggesting improvements on the method of payment if needed and handling all expense reimbursement queries from the bank in a timely and accurate manner.
In terms of accounting, performing weekly checks to ensure that all expenses have been imported to Oracle, assessing the aging of expense reports and plan for their reimbursement accordingly, reconciling unpaid expense reports at month-end to the general ledger will be some of the main responsibilities.
Requirements
Essentially, the ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience (preferably within a multinational environment) to accompany it. Proficiency in English and MS Excel is key, and experience in Oracle and Business Objects is preferred. Furthermore, familiarity with IFRS and US GAAP Example bullet will have an advantage. The ability to perform high volume of numerical detail work with speed and accuracy and showing excellent customer service orientation will be characteristics that will stand out from the crowd. Demonstrating attention to detail and being well organized, able to set priorities are other traits that will be noticed.
