Job description / Role
Currently ranked within the Top 10 Civil Engineering & Infrastructure Contractors within the UAE.The Commercial Director is looking to recruit a Junior Contracts Manager/ Managing Quantity Surveyor for the business.
He wants to recruit a Western Educated QS that has hands on contracts / risk / QS-ing experience.
You will be based from the head office in Abu Dhabi but you will be spending 70-75% of your time handling projects in Dubai, Al Ain & Abu Dhabi.
The nature of the work is heavy civil engineering projects with a focus on utilities, roads, sub stations and concrete structures. On each Project you will have a Lead QS that will be handling the day to day issues on site.
At present you will be looking at handling 3 to 4 Number Projects with each contract value ranging from 40 Million AED up to 95 Million AED as the largest contract at present for you to handle.
The importance of the work is not the contractual value but the type of contract, terms and clients that you are dealing with. You will have exposure to the UAE or GCC market in terms of how things differ to say the UK civil engineering sector.
You may well be based in the UAE or you may well be looking to relocate back to the UAE following time away from the region.
Requirements
- You Must have hands on / Boots on the ground experience for a GCC Country
- You must have a minimum of 8 Years Contracting Experience with 10 years of that being Post Graduate . This will most likely make you aged 33 Years +
- Have experience of FIDIC Contracts
- Have strong communication skills
- Degree in Quantity Surveying from a Western University
- Happy to relocate to Abu Dhabi or Dubai before the end of November 2016
The Budget range is up to 45,000 AED and this will not be broken due to Salary Banding’s (Current Exchange Rate 11th of October 2016 = £119,900 Tax Free)
