Junior Legal Counsel

Job description / Role

- Mitigate companies exposure to legal risk by ensuring a system of checks and balances, including signing off all contracts and agreements before presentation to senior management
- Ensure company is compliant with all local legal rules and regulations
- Work effectively as a member of a team

Provide legal advice to all business units in relation to existing and new commercial projects:
- Identify the key legal elements of the project
- Evaluate and mitigate the legal risks
- Negotiate and draft commercially sound agreements

Assist the senior legal counsels in controlling the following processes:
- Internal Audit
- Contracts/Agreements
- Policies & procedures
- Corporate Governance

Requirements

- Common law qualified (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand), relevant top-tier law firm legal experience, between
- 2 -3 years with particular emphasis on commercial leasing, asset management, shopping mall management and general corporate/ commercial work
- GCC regional and other international experience will be a plus
- Age between 24-30 years
- Secondary qualification in business studies/ real estate management/ development would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of civil and commercial law
- A sound understanding of the legal systems in which company operates
- Good inter personal skills and a team player. Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong command of Arabic is clearly a plus.
