Junior Legal Counsel

Job description / Role

Support the Senior Legal Counsel in their role to serve as the key legal and compliance business partner for the Middle East & Africa Region of the companies Europe, Middle East & Africa Strategic Business Unit

Client Details
A global listed manufacturing company which employs 150 000 people all over the world. Middle East reports to the European HQ and looks after the MEA regions legal operations

Description
• Acting as a business partner by applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention.
• Drafting, reviewing and supporting negotiation of business agreements and transactions such as (but not limited to) customer sales contracts, strategic alliance agreements, public tenders, franchises and distribution agreements.
• Advising the business on all legal matters and drive solutions.
• Providing hands on legal advice on regulatory, privacy, antitrust and advertising/promotional matters.
• Driving legal and compliance projects to improve efficiency and business responsibility, including using influencing skills to achieve buy-in from all levels of the business.

Requirements

Candidates who apply must meet all of the below criteria:
• JD, L.L.B with admission as an attorney/admission to the Bar.
• Between 2 - 4 years of business law experience at a large law firm or corporate/commercial legal department in-house, including previous experience of drafting, negotiating and closing business transactions (i.e., purchase, sale and distribution agreements)
• Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively.
