Role overview

The kindergarten teacher is responsible for creating a safe, stimulating, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young learners. This role involves delivering high-quality early years instruction, fostering creativity, and supporting children's holistic development in alignment with GEMS Education standards and KHDA requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Teaching & learning - Deliver engaging, play-based lessons aligned with the early years curriculum to support holistic child development.
• Classroom management - Create and maintain a safe, positive, and well-organized learning environment that encourages independence and respectful behavior.
• Student support - Monitor each child's progress and provide targeted support to meet individual learning and developmental needs.
• Collaboration & professionalism - Work closely with colleagues and leadership while participating in meetings and ongoing professional development.
• Parent engagement - Build strong relationships with parents through consistent communication and regular updates on student progress.

Skills

Qualifications & requirements

Education & certification

• Teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGCE, CACHE Level 3 or equivalent).
• KHDA approval (or ability to obtain it).

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years teaching experience in an early years/kindergarten setting (preferably in the UAE).
• Experience with EYFS, play-based learning, and inquiry-driven classrooms.

Skills & competencies

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Warm, patient, and child-centered approach.
• Strong classroom-management abilities.
