What you will be doing:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

- Keep all kitchen equipment in good state of maintenance and repair
- Perform regular preventive maintenance of all kitchen equipment in accordance with the schedule
- Be able to find faults on kitchen equipment and troubleshoot
- Know, learn and follow the energy conservation program
- Make regular rounds when assigned and do entries in the record logbooks as set out by maintenance department. Reports and carries out any corrective action immediately.
- Adhere with the HACCP procedure when doing intervention in the Kitchen
- Thoroughly familiar with all regulations regarding safety at work and observe these meticulously at all times
- Ensure all works are carried out as per instructions and specifications
- Liaise with superiors to discuss day-to-day operational requirements, achievements and improvements and take necessary action accordingly
- Prepared to work on shifts or overtime as required by the operation
- Handle every complaint/suggestion from guest/managers with positive attitude, sincere and promptness
- Discuss all complaints/ suggestions with superior and take remedial action
- Observe cleanliness at the place of work and on the job after completion of work
- Ensure cleanliness of appearance, strict personal hygiene and uniform
- Entirely flexible and adapt to rotate within the different sub-sections of the Engineering Department
- Flexible member of the department and willing to assist other members of the team when required
- Understand and adhere to the property's purchasing policies and procedures
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned


Your experience and skills include:

- Minimum of 1 year in an International hotel chain experience
- Degree or certificate is a must
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to organize workflow
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Ability to speak clearly in English
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/awareness basic information, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports, keep logs and correspondence
- Friendly and well-balanced personality, helpful and has a professional attitude
