Lab Technician

Job description / Role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support soil and construction material testing activities in accordance with international standards and project specifications. The role involves sample preparation, testing, documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct soil, concrete, asphalt, aggregate, and construction material tests as per ASTM, BS, AASHTO, and local authority standards
• Prepare, label, and store test samples accurately
• Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment and tools
• Record, analyze, and report test results in laboratory formats and Excel sheets
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC procedures, SOPs, and safety regulations
• Assist engineers and supervisors during inspections and audits
• Maintain calibration records and housekeeping of laboratory areas
• Support field testing activities when required

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering / Laboratory Technology or related field
• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in soil and construction material testing
• Knowledge of ASTM, BS, and UAE authority standards (DMT, ADM, etc.) preferred
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and reporting formats
• Physically fit and able to work in laboratory and site environments

Salary:
AED 1,500 to 2,000 per month inclusive of fixed allowances.
