Job Description
- Lab Specialist at the Department of Anatomy. Employed as a full-time or temporary contract, based on experience year, participating in research, teaching, and administrative activities.
- The Lab Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the research laboratory and training graduate and undergraduate students.
- Being responsible for arrange specimens for practical classes for different modules: plastinated specimens, models wet isolated specimens and dissected dead human bodies.
- Arrange specimens for practical classes for different modules: plastinated specimens, models wet isolated specimens and dissected dead human bodies.
- In additional to regular treatment for dissected dead human bodies to ensure that they remain in good condition and preparation of chemicals for the isolated specimens.
- Daily maintenance of cold rooms and reading temperature of each cold room.
- Arrange dissecting hall for practical classes for a large number of medical students.
- Setup the dissection hall to accommodate a large number of medical students and arrange specimens according to their timetable.
- Develop new techniques for keeping human dissected materials for a long period.
- Every six months change the chemical in the tanks in which we keep dead human bodies for long period.
- Ensure to order chemicals, receiving, supplies, and equipment dealing with stock keeper and procurement department when necessary.
- Stay with medical students in the dissection hall for their self-studies and revision classes.
- Teaching labs on most days run from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Requirements

Minimum Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant Science or biomedical discipline.
- Preferred Master's Degree (M.Sc.) in a relevant Science or biomedical discipline.

Preferred Qualification
- High level of independent thinking, creativity, and goal-oriented productivity.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to demonstrate initiative.

Expected Skills/Rank/Experience
- Minimum of 0-5 years in an academic or research setting in the relevant scientific field.
