Employment: Full Time

Our client is a market leader in the Dredging/Marine sector in the UAE. Due to further works being awarded they now require a Land Survey Manager who can fulfill the below duties:

- Develop, train and improve the survey department.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategy for all survey instruments and equipment.
- Manage project surveyors / survey division as required in their support of company projects.
- Ensure high quality survey support is provided to the company survey related projects.
- Strive for Customer satisfaction from a technical and operational survey perspective.
- Provide a high degree of technical survey knowledge and expertise for all survey aspects of the Survey Department and projects.
- Establish and implement policies and procedures for effective and efficient functioning of the survey division in cooperation with Sr. Chief Surveyor
- Manage Offshore/Onshore Survey operations to support the running of projects from tender review through procedure production, briefings, mobilisation, execution, deliverables and project close out.
- Complete and facilitate the quality control of survey data returning from the field, including computations and network adjustments.
- Support and facilitate the support of Offshore/Onshore survey teams in survey and operational matters.
- Conduct and supervise the generation of all forms of project documentation for each project phase including project procedures, quality, plans, field reports, charting and final deliverables, also to ensure that documentation follows company standards.
- Support all aspects of preparation, mobilization, operations and completion of company projects from a survey perspective, including monitoring and control of costs on projects to which you are assigned and the development of invoices on monthly basis or at project completions.
- Manage the data flow for each project from receipt of client data to data pack generation to receipt of data from Offshore to production of final project deliverables.
- Provide reports to the Management on KPI’s (e.g. progress, issues and equipment and results).
- Monitor Weekly performance of all Surveyors for the projects.
- Translate department goals in cooperation with Project/Operation Manager into Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Prepare, manage and control yearly financial budget of the survey division.
- Liaise with support departments within the company, including survey engineering, data processing, HR and personnel logistics, ensuring that resources are in place in a timely fashion for project commencement and completion.
- Liaise with the Project Manager and project team where relevant.
- Final approval for all purchase requests within the survey division.
- Ensure and facilitate best development opportunities of survey division staff.
- Ensure that the HSE requirements are observed in the execution of all survey activities, Provide guidelines to Sr. Chief Surveyor & Survey Division on QA/QC and HSE reports/recommendations.
- Promote positive approaches to health and safety by leading by example,
- Communicate HSE responsibilities effectively with staff,
- Encouraging a safety culture, promoting a “no-blame culture”,
- Tracking and monitoring progress to ensure HSE KPI achievement

Requirements

- 12+ years of experience in a similar field
- Bachelor’s Degree in Hydrographic, Land or Engineering Survey or equivalent professional qualification.
- Background in Dredging / Marine construction industry is mandatory
- Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD/BricsCAD or similar, PDS2000 processing and Acquisition or similar, Trimble TBC or similar. MS Primavera and Linux/Unix could be an added advantage.
