Landscape BIM Manager

Job description / Role

Parsons is seeking a Landscape BIM Manager that will set up and support project delivery teams and execute the day to day development, establishment and implementation of BIM standards, methods and production in Parsons Dubai office. Function covers design, project and construction management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create all required templates for Revit and Civil 3D for landscape projects.
• Set up the files -including but not limited to Revit, Civil3D, AutoCAD, Rhino and Navisworks- for design, 3D coordination and sheets’ production for complex urban mixed-use projects.
• Supervise and contribute to the objects and families creation and oversee maintenance of libraries according to the relevant project(s) and stage(s) needs.
• Review, estimate, and give input into delivery schedules and levels of effort required to produce deliverables, including assessment of potential need to secure out-of-house services.
• With help and supervision of the Digital Design Manager and Landscape director, define the workflows and procedures for digital design delivery into the landscape department’s and exchange information with other involved disciplines.
• Create and maintain all BIM documentation (including but not limited to BEP, TIDP, MIDP, LOD Matrices etc.) for all projects with landscape deliverables following Parsons’ BIM documents templates.
• Train, mentor, and troubleshoot CAD technicians, 3D modeling / visualization technicians, and landscape architects to operate various BIM application, including but not limited to Revit, Civil3D, and Navisworks.
• Prepare and upskill the landscape team to pass BSI BIM certification and then the annual audits and evaluations.
• Responsible for the 3D coordination with involved disciplines and external consultants.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary and client meetings, providing constructive feedback and advise on the status of the model, design review, 3D coordination and production.
• Participate and support Parsons’ MEA DEMO (Digital Engineering Management Organization) activities with the development and implementation of the MEA Digital Transformation Roadmap.
• Create and maintain quality checks, model health checks and design review checks.
• Quantity take off and scheduling.

TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

• Expert (strongly proficient, fluent, fast, no need for external support) in Revit, Civil3D, Navisworks Rhino and AutoCAD. Scripting experience in Dynamo and Grasshopper is essential. Familiarity with other modeling software and cloud-based platforms, including SketchUp, 3D Studio Max, Lumion, ProjectWise, BIM 360, Aconex etc. would be a plus.
• Documented experience with British BIM standards (PAS series and ISO 19650) for the creation, maintenance and review of BIM documents.
• Documented experience with project Information model setup and implementation in design and construction projects.

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor s Degree in Landscape Architecture or related design professional discipline.
• Minimum 5-7 years experience in Design or Construction from a design discipline background. Minimum 3-5 years experience in BIM Implementation on complex mixed-use urban projects including landscape architectural site improvements. Experience either from a Consultant or Contractor environment for Landscape Architecture Projects.
• Experience in international design office; Middle East experience preferred.
• Good technical, interpersonal, communication, and organization skills.

ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Have good time management skills to ensure fast and efficient production of finished outputs, meeting deadlines, and estimating the amount of time it will take to do a given assignment. This includes the estimation of additional resource requirements, if any: staff time (regular time and overtime), hardware, and software. Advise management on estimation of level of effort for BIM for proposals.
