Job Description
The Lead Biomedical Equipment Technician oversees maintenance services on all medical equipment regardless of SRAN or location to include receipt, preventive maintenance, repair, calibration, inventory control and approved modification. Ensures compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Principal Accountabilities
- Will review equipment awaiting repair or repair parts for more than 30 days to determine the cause of the delay and ensure corrective action is taken.
- Will review MMR monthly.
- Will be responsible for the QC of all requests submitted, follow-up of requests, approval status, any edits to requests needed and return follow-up of equipment items.
- QRS follow-up for return of equipment items.
- Coordination between CACI and other subcontractors for any maintenance of in-house equipment and ensure the proper forms are filled out for the EDF.
- PMEL master list corrections/edits, coordinates and implements cycle changes dictated by SG or PMEL.
- Overviews accuracy of Parts Tracker and QC of parts request submitted.
- QC of work order completion & documentation, equipment record itself.
- Monitor OJT for BMETS, certify BMETS on applicable equipment, certify MAXIMO training records, develop BMET progression plan.
- Manage POC's for on base resources, BIO (Bioenvironmental Equipment) & COMMS (Radios), POL (NPTLOX).
- Develop and maintain BMET continuity binder.
- Manage admin supplies needed for routine work, test setup & equipment for maintenance.
- TMDE custodian on DMLSS, primary PMEL monitor.
- Conducts annual self-inspection.
- SME in BMET interview for position and orientation lead after hire.
- May initiate corrective action as well as Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) for BMETS in conjunction with Medical Superintendent.
- Coordination with onsite departments, sits in production & safety meetings.
- BMET equipment safety and PPE use.
- Workload evaluation for leave approval, tracks workload production of techs.
- Medlog & DMLSS SA, reviewing Medlog.
- View BI/ERRO report monthly, addressing BMETs appropriately.
- ECRI recalls & alerts, QC DMLSS inbox alerts.
- Convey relevant information about equipment or processes to AFMRA.
- Prepare for COR audits, convey COR concerns or corrections.
- Setup MEMP - Medical Equipment Maintenance Plan - Overview of entire shop maintenance plan & BMET SOP/MSEP.
- Sign out toolbox equipment, verify sign in of toolbox equipment.
- On new equipment verify shop has proper TMDE/setups needed for maintenance.
- QC of excess equipment and disposition to include batteries.
- Route up UL equipment details to Medical Superintendent if not located after two weeks.
- QC of Bear Base equipment work orders are identified and completed with Bear Base work order attached.
- Coordination of Tasker equipment serviceability and cross leveling.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Works in normal office and maintenance shop or warehouse environment and may be required to work outdoors for extended periods.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be proficient in the use of personal computers and Windows Operating System and Microsoft Office to include as a minimum PowerPoint, Excel and Word programs.
- Knowledge of physiology, electronics, mechanical systems, optics, hydraulics, pneumatics and radiation principles as applicable to biomedical equipment support systems; use and interpretation of national safety and accreditation standards, schematics, wiring diagrams and USAF publications regarding medical equipment; equipment systems application in medicine and medical safety practices is mandatory.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
- Must possess a valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have six years minimal experience including one year WRM BMET experience and one year supervisory or oversight capacity of BMET shop.
- Graduate of Army/USAF Biomedical Equipment Maintenance Course or possession of certification by accredited biomedical agency required.
- Will be required to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) according to prescribed procedures and as required for task being performed.
- Physically capable of performing all required duties; capable of lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Air Force or Navy BMET experienced preferred.
