Overview / Responsibilities
Due to anticipated growth throughout 2023, Wood is currently inviting applications for a Lead Buyer with experience in the oil and gas industry for our team in Abu Dhabi.

Responsibilities
- Manage a small team of buyers and lead an asset team reporting appropriately to the client
- Undertake Procurement of "Long Lead" items including ITB, Evaluation, Purchase Order and Post Order Management
- Support all on-going project Procurement activities as required
- Report to Procurement Manager and assist with any other tasks as required
- Assist in development of project procurement strategy
- Approve bid lists
- Approve tender documents for issue
- Supervise bid receipt, opening and distribution
- Ensure the Procurement Status Report (PSR) is maintained, issued and actively managed to achieve the required planned / forecast dates
- Supervise the resolution of all Wood Supplier claims (example: warranties, defects, performance, etc)
- Ensure the procurement function complete supplier performance reviews
- Ensure timely close-out of all purchase orders
- Preparing supplier performance evaluation and order close out
- Performing all purchasing activity in accordance with the set project purchasing procedure and the purchasing work instructions

Requirements


Skills / Qualifications
- Minimum of 20 years experience in related buying and procurement positions for large EPC projects in the oil and gas industries
- Previous Middle East experience is preferred
