Lead Consultant – Data Architect

Job description / Role

We are seeking an experienced Azure Data Architect to design and lead enterprise-level data solutions on Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise across Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Medallion / Lakehouse architecture, along with in-depth understanding of modern data engineering and data governance practices.

What You’ll Do:
• Design and implement end-to-end data architectures on Azure aligned with business and analytics needs.
• Develop and operationalize Medallion / Lakehouse architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) using Databricks and Fabric.
• Lead data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks.
• Define data modeling standards, metadata management principles, and data governance best practices.
• Architect scalable data storage solutions including Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Delta Lake, Synapse, and Fabric Lakehouse.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analytics teams, and engineering teams to deliver scalable, high-performing data solutions.
• Drive cost optimization, security controls, and performance tuning for cloud workloads.
• Provide architectural guidance and perform code reviews for data pipelines and platform components.

What You’ll Bring:

• 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Data Architecture roles.
Strong hands-on expertise in:
• Azure Data Factory (ETL/ELT, pipelines, triggers, integration runtime)
• Azure Databricks (Spark, Delta Lake, notebooks, cluster management)
• Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Data Warehouse components)
• Medallion / Lakehouse architecture design patterns
• Proficiency in SQL, PySpark, and distributed data processing.
• Solid understanding of data modeling techniques (star schema, dimensional modeling, data vault preferred).
• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics.
• Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, security, IAM, and Azure DevOps CI/CD.
