Wood is currently looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer (PMC/Engineering) to join our team in Sharjah, UAE.

Responsibilities:

PMC

- Ensure quality and accuracy of EPC Contractor's and Vendor's Discipline design activities
- Review and approval of EPC Contractor's work and ensure compliance with project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices in compliance with the contractual review periods
- Participate in layout reviews, Model review, design reviews, and technical workshops

Engineering

- Assume sole responsibility for assigned electrical engineering work scopes
- Carry out electrical discipline work for field development of oil and gas production facilities
- Plan, budget, organize and control a segment of the electrical engineering deliverables for the project
- Prepare electrical deliverables for all project phases the oil and gas industry
- Ensure that all work is completed without compromise to quality and is delivered according to the project schedule
- Provide direction and guidance on all electrical engineering technical queries raised by either internal or external parties
- Liaise with the Client's Engineering, Operations and Maintenance staff as required to ensure a consistent approach to project completion
- Promote safe behavior at all times
- Provide sound technical advice and solutions to a diversity of technical problems within the discipline
- Co-ordinate with other disciplines during all stages of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up
- Assist in the coordination of all activities related to electrical engineering design
- Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required

General

- Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects
- Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
- Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning & commissioning.

Requirements:

- Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Membership of a recognized professional institute preferred
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in the oil and gas industry
- Minimum of 6 years proven capability in an engineering design company
- Experience working with multi-national and multi-cultural project teams is strongly preferred
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of Electrical design and analysis
- Familiar with the typical software packages that are used for Electrical engineering design
- Thorough awareness of relevant international codes and standards
- Experience of participation in EHAZOP, ETAP, HAZOP, HAZID and SIL Rating studies
- Self-starter and flexibility to manage and deliver both PMC and engineering activities.
