Job Description

The safe and effective delivery of a portfolio of brownfield safety critical projects on multiple offshore platforms; including large production complexes (multiple platforms bridge linked) and remote wellhead towers, located offshore within the UAE under an EPCM contracting model.

Effective overall delivery of execution delivery on an assigned asset, which could be a production complex or a number of wellhead towers. This encompasses both construction and commissioning activities as well as the movement of accommodation barges, utilization of workboats, and receipt of materials.

Provide certainty and confidence to the client and Wood project sponsor, that the contract is being delivered safely with a strong focus on optimization, cost control, risk management, schedule adherence, and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• To lead the team of engineers and designers.
• Responsible for the design and approval of all electrical work on assigned projects.
• Ensure that detail design methods, standards, and data used on assigned projects meet the client's requirements.
• Participate in project scheduling and project review activities.
• Carry out calculations and studies required to finalize electrical equipment specifications.
• Prepare material requisitions and technical bid evaluations for electrical equipment on assigned projects.
• Assist the designers for the preparation of electrical drawings such as SLDs, protection and control schematics, and layout drawings.
• Review vendor's documents to ensure equipment vendors provide timely and quality input into design packages.
• Review all third-party discipline design work.
• Understand the contract quality management system and ensure these requirements are met.
• Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimize areas of interface during the design development, review, and check processes.
• Proficient in the use of ETAP, Navisworks, lighting calculation software (Dialux, etc.) and MS Office.
• Set up and maintain electrical databases on assigned projects.
• Carry out electrical engineering work as required by the lead electrical engineer in accordance with the agreed project schedule.
• Attend factory acceptance tests (FATs) and site acceptance tests (SATs) for electrical equipment (or equipment with significant electrical content) on assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Must have ADNOC offshore brownfield project experience.
• Experience of AC, DC offshore power systems, including UPS for ESD and F&G systems.
• Experience of working with leading OEMs for design, interface, interconnections, plus factory acceptance and site acceptance testing.
• Experience of package management.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in a similar position in mega oil and gas or petrochemical projects, managing a team of engineers and designers.
• Fully coherent in all international codes and standards.
• Enthusiastic, conscientious, and keen to learn; flexible with a can-do attitude.
• Working hands-on experience on SPEL.
• Must have working knowledge and experience of electrical discipline relevant offshore/onshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications, and practices.
• Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
