Job overview

As a Lead Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, installation, and maintenance of all instrumentation systems on our projects. You will work closely with our clients, project managers, and other engineers to ensure that all instrumentation systems meet the required specifications and standards. You will also be responsible for managing a team of instrumentation engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, installation, and maintenance of instrumentation systems on projects, ensuring they meet the required specifications and standards
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to develop project plans and schedules for instrumentation work
• Manage a team of instrumentation engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and support as needed
• Conduct regular inspections of instrumentation systems to identify any potential issues and recommend solutions
• Develop and maintain instrumentation documentation, including drawings, specifications, and manuals
• Oversee the procurement of instrumentation equipment and materials, ensuring they meet project requirements and are delivered on time
• Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in instrumentation technology, and make recommendations for their implementation in projects
• Ensure all instrumentation work is carried out in compliance with safety and quality standards
• Provide technical support to clients and other departments as needed
• Prepare and present progress reports to project managers and clients

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with at least 3 years in a lead or supervisory role
• Extensive knowledge of instrumentation systems and equipment, including control systems, sensors, transmitters, and PLCs
• Experience in designing and implementing instrumentation systems for oil and gas, petrochemical, or energy projects
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Proficient in using engineering software and tools such as AutoCAD, PLC programming software, and simulation tools
• Knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, such as API, ASME, and ISA
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Willingness to travel to project sites as needed
