Responsibilities
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the planning and execution of installation and construction activities for major mechanical equipment including:
- Compressors
- Package boilers
- STG
- Large columns and vessels
- Acid gas blowers
- HRSG packages
- Flares and incinerators
- Large bore valves
- Prepare detailed material handling reports, including lifting studies, rigging plans, and equipment access strategies.
- Evaluate and design crane access and standing areas for installation and maintenance operations.
- Assess and validate pipe rack strength and structural adequacy for supporting new loads during brownfield modifications.
- Develop and review installation and maintenance strategies for integration with existing facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Coordinate with structural, piping, and civil teams to ensure compatibility of new installations with existing infrastructure.
- Provide input on passive fire protection (PFP) requirements for existing structures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in 3D model and constructability reviews and provide technical solutions for complex installation challenges.
- Ensure all activities comply with project specifications, industry codes (ASME, API, etc.), and HSE standards.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- 15-20 years of experience in mechanical construction, installation, and maintenance within large-scale industrial projects.
- Proven experience in brownfield modifications and integration with existing facilities.
- Strong knowledge of structural assessments, pipe rack loading, and PFP systems.
- Proficiency in preparing technical documentation, lifting plans, and method statements.
- Familiarity with international standards and best practices in mechanical construction and safety.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
