Responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of installation and construction activities for major mechanical equipment including:
    • Compressors
    • Package boilers
    • STG
    • Large columns and vessels
    • Acid gas blowers
    • HRSG packages
    • Flares and incinerators
    • Large bore valves
  • Prepare detailed material handling reports, including lifting studies, rigging plans, and equipment access strategies.
  • Evaluate and design crane access and standing areas for installation and maintenance operations.
  • Assess and validate pipe rack strength and structural adequacy for supporting new loads during brownfield modifications.
  • Develop and review installation and maintenance strategies for integration with existing facilities, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
  • Coordinate with structural, piping, and civil teams to ensure compatibility of new installations with existing infrastructure.
  • Provide input on passive fire protection (PFP) requirements for existing structures and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Participate in 3D model and constructability reviews and provide technical solutions for complex installation challenges.
  • Ensure all activities comply with project specifications, industry codes (ASME, API, etc.), and HSE standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
  • 15-20 years of experience in mechanical construction, installation, and maintenance within large-scale industrial projects.
  • Proven experience in brownfield modifications and integration with existing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of structural assessments, pipe rack loading, and PFP systems.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical documentation, lifting plans, and method statements.
  • Familiarity with international standards and best practices in mechanical construction and safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
