Job purpose

To lead the detailed engineering design, assembly, and testing team of various Safety Instrumented Systems as per the project specification requirements.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

• Lead the Safety System Engineering Team in a project.
• Review the project technical requirements, specifications, and standards.
• Prepare and review work procedures and hardware/product specifications.
• Report to the Project Manager on day-to-day activities.
• Perform and review the detailed engineering design, assembly, and testing of the system as per the project specification requirements.
• Prepare and review Bill of Material for various Safety Systems.
• Coordinate with Customer Engineers for technical issues.
• Prepare and review Purchase Orders for various project materials.
• Assist the Project Engineer and Senior Project Engineer as and when required for technical issues.
• Prepare Safety Validation Plan for Safety Projects.
• Coordinate with document controller for control of project documentation and QC engineer for inspection and testing related activities.
• Arrange internal meetings and project walkthroughs for achieving project milestones.
• Monitor and control project progress.
• Participate in site acceptance test, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Adhere to the project schedule and project quality plan.
• Prepare scope of work deviations and track them.

Qualification and experience

• A degree in engineering field, preferably in instrumentation, electronics, or electrical.
• Minimum 14 years of experience in the field of instrumentation, control, and safety systems.
• Safety Training B Certificates.
• TUV Functional Safety Engineer Certification (preferable).

Required competencies / skills

• Knowledge of IT basics and Microsoft applications.
• Project report writing skills.
• Project design engineering packages and related software.
