Job description / Role
Role Summary:
Responsibilities will include maintaining the business' compliance strategy and program across the EGM region. Provide leadership and oversight to business operations to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance. Ensures appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate programs and practices.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Providing leadership and oversight to business operations to assure adherence to all aspects of internal company and external regulatory compliance.
- Supports the Compliance Leader for EGM & Eastern Europe to drive compliance initiatives throughout the EGM Region.
- Help ensure a strong open reporting environment where people are able to freely raise compliance concerns. Also help ensure that concerns are appropriately investigated and corrective actions put in place where necessary.
- Ensures appropriate mechanisms are in place to comply with relevant laws and regulations, and adherence to corporate programs and practices.
- Advises Functional managers or other Functions regarding relevant approaches, processes and procedures in the compliance field.
- Communication with direct colleagues and the business about approach and methods for solving complex problems.
- Has a role as a project leader of medium sized projects or is a major contributor to bigger projects.
Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 3 years of experience in the Legal, Compliance or Regulatory field).
- Strong working knowledge of English & Arabic language (oral and written)
- Knowledge of, and commitment to, The Spirit & The Letter policies and processes (or similar ethical code of conduct)
- Understanding of GE compliance processes (or their equivalent)
