Description

Lead structural design engineer will spearhead the structural design of landmark high-rise and mixed-use developments in Dubai. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer with deep technical expertise, a strategic mindset, and a portfolio of iconic vertical projects across the GCC.

Design and leadership:

Lead the structural design process, and analysis of high-rise towers, podiums, and integrated mixed-use complexes, from pre-concept till to IFC and further through the execution in accordance with local, international standards, and industry best practices.
Prepare and adhere to assigned budgets and schedules, integrate team efforts, review work, set priorities, identify, and resolve issues in a timely manner and communicate status to the technical director.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders and team members.
Proven track record of successfully delivering structural engineering projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation.

Technical excellence:

Conduct structural assessments, load calculations, and finite element analyses to evaluate structural performance, durability, and resilience under various loading conditions.
Promote the adoption of advanced design tools, materials, and methodologies to improve outcomes.
Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, ACI, BS, Eurocodes, and other international standards.
Prepare the structural documents required for the authority approval submissions.
Identify and mitigate potential risks in structural designs and project execution.
Lead and be responsible for the successful delivery of steel and concrete structures, including production of technical reports, written calculations, design briefs, specifications, drawings, schedules, contract documentation and the like.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and experienced in the computer-aided design tools (e.g., CAD, Revit, Rhino, Navisworks, and BIM-based workflows).
Deep understanding of construction methodologies and site coordination.

Project integration:

Coordinate closely with architects, MEP, and landscape teams to ensure seamless integration of structural systems.
Resolve complex design challenges through innovative, cost-effective solutions.

Quality & delivery:

Review and approve structural drawings, BIM models, and technical documentation produced by the team.
Ensure timely delivery of design packages aligned with project milestones and authority approvals.

Authority interface:

Represent the structural discipline in meetings with consultants and regulatory bodies.
Lead technical presentations, design reviews, and value engineering workshops.

Team development:

Mentor and manage a team of structural engineers and BIM designers.
Foster a culture of technical rigor, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in structural or civil engineering, chartered engineer holding preferred.
• 20+ years structural design experience, with a minimum of 5 years in similar position.
• Extensive experience in high-rise and mixed-use projects is required.
• Valid Dubai Municipality structural license (unlimited preferred).
• Previous experience in international consultancy is advantageous.
