Luxury and tranquility in an authentic setting, await our Guests at a Willow Stream Spa. As a Lead Therapist, our Guests will enjoy the warm welcome, professional and personalized spa experience offered by you and your team. The hospitality and attention to detail you provide during their spa experience will ensure our guests have a memory to share. As a Lead Therapist, she will train and supervise all spa therapist in latest trends, and guest service protocol. Provide uncompromising attention to Guest/Member service your role will be to ensure that the team delivers an outstanding Willow Stream Experience to all our guests, upsell treatments and products, driving revenue and guest satisfaction.

Hotel Overview: Ideally situated on the Arabian Gulf in Ajman, UAE, the Fairmont Ajman has opened in May 2015. The hotel is in close proximity to both Sharjah and Dubai airports. The hotel features 252 guestrooms and suites, including two luxurious penthouse offerings, a multitude of dining options and fitness facilities. The beachfront location offers guests a wide range of leisure activities including water sports and diving as well as access to shopping and cultural excursions. Event planners can take advantage of 2,000 square meters of indoor function space as well as outdoor facilities

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Reporting to the Spa Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
• Ensure guest comfort at all times.
• Perform all 30, 60 and 90 minute massage, body treatments, facials and Hamm am treatments.
• Be on time for appointments and thoroughly review appointments after completing each massage.
• Keep work area clean and neat at all times.
• Maintain an ample supply of massage oils, alcohol, towels, sheets, and other necessary supplies in a neat and orderly fashion within the massage work area.
• Courteously interact and answer all facility-related questions with Members and Guests.
• Perform all body treatments as required.
• Support spa reception when required.
• Coordinate body tech. services with other spa programs.
• Ensure current trends in body treatment industry are reviewed.
• Serve as catalyst to promote spa services to members and hotel Guests.
• Maintain current professional licenses.
• Report dysfunctional equipment to Spa manager.
• Work with the Spa Manager in the formulation of plans for projects.

ASSIST IN THE OPERATIONS OF ALL SPA DEPARTMENTS AS REQUIRED:
• Reception
• Boutique
• Sales and Marketing
• Supervise all spa operations.
• Promote and sell customized spa programs to conference groups as required.
• Serve as a catalyst to promote spa services to Members and hotel Guests.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of competitors, including location, services offered, pricing, and promotions.
• Prepare and update service operations manuals.
• Assist in the administration and implementation of staff training in all aspects of the Spa’s operations, i.e. business telephone usage, Guest relations, retail sales, spa services, LQA (massage, loofah, facial etc.)
• Conduct Colleague in-services on any accepted techniques or programs and demonstrate the proper use of equipment and products.
• Tour potential clients/members as needed.
• Meet with product vendors as required.
• Supervise all aspects of handling incoming stock for body tech. department.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES:
• Effective scheduling of all Spa Therapist and spa attendant.
• Adhere to Spa Policy & Standard Operating Procedures and treatment Protocol Manuals.
• Maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of Body Technicians services.
• Maintain accurate records as required by hotel and provincial regulations.
• Conduct selection interviews for new hires as and when required.
• Conduct weekly/monthly spa departmental communication meeting.

HEALTH AND SAFETY:
• Follow and ensure that Colleagues follow all safety procedures and practices.
• Development of and adherence to body tech. departmental emergency procedures/safety manual.
• Ensure all departments adhere to all safety practices of Willow Stream.
• Maintain equipment for spa therapist operations and personal equipment in safe working order.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Maintain the facility in peak condition at all times while adhering to all aspects of the operations budget.
• Control all expenses.

COLLEAGUE RELATIONS:
• Ensure spa department maintains a positive relationship with all departments in the spa and hotel.
• Responsible for all aspects of spa therapist i.e. hiring, recognition, progressive corrective action etc.
• Responsible for the efficient training of all spa therapists in all aspects of job tasks.
• Ensure Colleagues have a complete understanding of and adhere to the Spa’s policy relating to safety.
• Responsible for all spa departments training in pertinent emergency procedures and ensuring that all departments are well versed in boutique operations (cross training).
• Ensure Colleagues adhere to all spa standards as stated in the employee handbook.
• Conduct spa therapist employee performance appraisals in a timely manner.

GUEST SERVICE:
• Ensure the facility is in peak condition at all times (operations and cleanliness).
• Ensure Guest/member satisfaction at all times by ensuring that safety and service is always the spa's first priority.

OTHER DUTIES:
• Ensure cross training of all employees in the department and to facilitate training of other spa departments.
• Carry out any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous Spa or Hospitality experience preferred
• Minimum five years experience as Therapist, minimum two years experience in Supervisory level
• Has valid recognized certificate as Massage Therapist
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF POSITION (INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):
• Frequent sitting throughout shift
• Occasional standing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
