Job description / Role
We have a number of Learning Assistant opportunities available within our schools, this is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about the development of children to make a difference.
Key responsibilities:
- Generally contribute towards the creation of a happy, positive, caring environment which reflects a child-centered, experiential approach to learning
- Maintain close contact with specialist teachers i.e. Music, Movement, Art, and the language teachers
- Develop a positive and supportive relationship with pupils
- Provide safe, stimulating play to meet the social, linguistic, creative, physical, imaginative and emotional needs of each child
- Be aware of the differing needs of pupils
Requirements
Additional responsibilities:
- Communicate and understand the classroom rules and routines
- Have a sound knowledge and understanding of the ICLCA
- Use strategies, in liaison with the teacher, to support pupils to achieve ICLCA objectives
- Follow the lead and methods of the class teacher and adhere to TCG philosophies
- Assist with the planning of learning activities
- Undertake training and Continuing Professional Development as required
- Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings as required
- Participate in outside morning supervision (rotational schedule)
- Accompany teaching staff and pupils on visits, trips and out of school activities as required and take responsibility for a group under the supervision of the teacher
