Legal Advisor

Job description / Role

A leading luxury retail group is looking for a Legal Advisor with 2 - 3 years experience. The successful candidate will be currently working within the retail and e-commerce industries handling IT contracts, service level agreements, support and maintenance agreements and licensing. Ideally the candidate will also have a working knowledge of GDPR and data protection.

Description

- Preparation of legal documents and contracts
- Prepare a wide variety of legal documents under the Group General Counsel supervision
- Develop and/or review drafts of contracts and agreements.
- Research, Analysis and consultation
- Conduct legal and factual research and data analysis as directed
- Provide legal analysis of contractual and regulatory issues
- Convey legal advice and follow-up information to manager, in consultation with attorneys or external lawyers, regarding the legal implications, risks, and liabilities of proposed and actual policies, practices, and contractual situations
- Negotiate specific contractual issues and agreements with external entities as appropriate
- Participate in meeting and conferences pertaining to resolution of contracting issues
- Participate in the review of new legislation requiring contractual compliance, and implements systems required to attain compliance
- Develop contracts to achieve compliance, negotiating legal issues as appropriate
- Routine administrative tasks
- Establish, maintain, process, and/or oversee files, correspondence, databases, records, certificates, and/or other documents
- Liaise with government officials, business divisions, external law offices, brand principles, JV companies and management on various legal issues
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

- Must have worked on various types of commercial agreements such as retail, franchise, distribution, supply, services, NDA.
- Must have worked on digital matters and IT contracts: e-commerce platform, website development agreement, software license, application and infrastructure agreement, service level agreement, support and maintenance agreement.
- Must have knowledge and show interest on data protection and GDPR matters,
- Must have worked on Corporate matters
- Business acumen

Minimum Requisite:

- Bachelor of law
- Minimum 3 years of experience (law firm or in-house)
- Fluent Business English
